150 Minute Movie, Rated PG, Made in 1997
An Astrophysicist discovers a signal sent to Earth from space and the movie covers different viewpoints on mankind's place in the universe and the conflict that such an event would create in the world today. Hidden within the message is a mathematical code which appears to be schematics for building some sort of machine where a single human being can stand inside of it. The motives of the alien race are called into question, and people choose side as to whether the aliens are friendly in nature or want to destroy our world using the machine.
The last 2 days of the semester (Day 42 - Day 43) we will watch the movie and will coordinate food and drinks to eat while watching the movie.
A report will need to be written, typed and turned in by the final day of school (Day 44) which is the final exam for the semester.
